Membership
Framework

A voluntary, inclusive, and non-discriminatory framework through which individuals, institutions, organizations, and stakeholders may engage with and contribute to the mission and objectives of the Global Compact.

Membership Categories

Who May Participate

Membership shall not be conditioned upon nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, political affiliation, or geographic origin. The Global Compact welcomes all who support its objectives.

Category I
Founding Members

Original participants in the establishment of the Global Compact who have contributed to the founding vision, declaration, and institutional framework.

Category II
Individual Members

Individuals supportive of the Global Compact's objectives who wish to contribute to peacebuilding, ethical governance, and responsible international cooperation.

Category III
Youth Members

Young people committed to youth leadership, innovation, civic participation, and intergenerational responsibility in advancing global peace and development.

Category IV
Institutional Members

Organizations, institutions, and entities supportive of the Global Compact's mission, including governmental bodies, IGOs, and international institutions.

Category V
Academic Members

Universities, research centers, think tanks, and academic institutions contributing knowledge, research, and intellectual engagement to the Compact's objectives.

Category VI
Civil Society Members

NGOs, INGOs, community development organizations, human rights bodies, humanitarian organizations, and social development institutions.

Category VII
Diplomatic Fellows

Accredited ambassadors of goodwill committed to diplomacy, peacebuilding, dialogue, education, advocacy, and responsible international cooperation.

Category VIII
Honorary Members

Distinguished individuals, leaders, and entities recognized for exceptional contribution to peace, human dignity, governance, and international cooperation.

Category IX
Observer Participants

Entities participating in forums and dialogues without formal membership status, for the purpose of consultation, learning, and constructive exchange.

Diplomatic Fellows

Diplomatic Fellows are accredited representatives of the Global Compact — committed to advancing diplomacy, peacebuilding, dialogue, education, advocacy, and responsible international cooperation as ambassadors of goodwill.

Fellowship is open to distinguished individuals, leaders, academics, professionals, and advocates who share the Compact's values and wish to contribute meaningfully to its mission across nations, cultures, and institutions.

Education & AwarenessPromoting the values and objectives of the Global Compact through education and public engagement

Application Process

How to Join the
Global Compact

Membership is open to all eligible individuals and institutions. The process is straightforward, voluntary, and guided by the principles of the Global Compact.

Express Interest

Contact the Global Secretariat to express your interest in membership, specifying your preferred membership category and institutional background.

Review & Alignment

The Secretariat will review your expression of interest and assess alignment with the Compact's principles, values, and institutional objectives.

Engagement Classification

A mutually agreed membership category and engagement level will be determined, consistent with your institutional capacity and objectives.

Recognition & Welcome

Upon confirmation, a formal acknowledgment letter or membership instrument will be issued and you will be welcomed into the Global Compact community.

Ethics Framework

Standards of Conduct
for All Members

All members are expected to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct consistent with the Global Compact's values, institutional integrity, and service to humanity.

Article I
Good Faith

All members shall act in good faith, honesty, and with genuine commitment to the Compact's objectives and principles.

Article II
Non-Discrimination

Equal dignity and full participation without discrimination of any kind — nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, or political affiliation.

Article III
Anti-Corruption

Zero tolerance for corruption, fraud, bribery, or abuse of authority in any form across all institutional activities and engagements.

Article IV
Transparency

All activities shall be transparent, accountable, and subject to review in accordance with institutional standards and governance principles.

Article V
Confidentiality

Sensitive institutional information shall be responsibly managed and protected in accordance with confidentiality guidelines.

Article VI
Ethical Leadership

Leadership within the Compact is service-based, requiring integrity, moral responsibility, and commitment to the common good.
